Estabar is pretty good, i'm from newcastle and some of my favourite cafes are Bodega in king street, newcastle that serves illy coffee, also a place in beaumont street, hamilton/islington (other side of the train tracks), its called suspension espresso, although they might not look all fancy, they know a nice cup of coffee, if you're ever around that way i suggests dropping in, they have a whole range of different coffees where they have a different one they serve each day, i would see if you can try the Costa Rica single origin. i also enjoy a few different coffees from a local roaster called peaberrys, u can find there retail store @ 4/12 Alma Road, New Lambton, they have a few blends, organic and single origin coffees, plus you can find the coffee at several cafes in newcastle, one i really like is R & R Cafe @ lakelands (near warners bay) its in the business centre, its a not for profit cafe that supports a few charities, its got a very nice menu, they are also changing there coffee to a fairtrade coffee soon i am pretty sure, if you do go i suggest for breakfast on a weekday for the scrambled eggs and bacon, some of the best eggs around!! thanks

Suspension! Thats it, I forgot the name, I loved that place, like you said-not a place you would take someone for a 'coffee date' but the coffee is excellent, they really know there stuff.

Coffee is not just coffee, its the creation of the artiste, beans and beans , yes, however in the end its the creation of energy within a cup. When were you energised by an artist.

Please do not disregard the creation, whether campos, di-gabrielle, or any other, it takes an artist to make the coffee.
