Hi Steve,

I've never used it myself but I've heard the Saeco Via Venezia is good machine. You should consider writing up a review of it on the groups page!

By the way, I picked up some of the "Red African Cocoa" from Bean-bay from CoffeeSnobs. Google it and it'll likely be one of the first few hits returned. Bean-bay only opens it's doors once a month.

Until next time, happy brewing!

Andrew

thanks for the tip matt. luckily the knowledgeable gentleman who sold me the venezia gave me this advice at the time. shows you should buy your espresso machine from a reputable place even if you may pay more than over the net.

Hey Steve, a small tip for the via vanezia which you may already know. If you want to avoid the internal thermo switch from "tripping" and causing the machine to require a trip to the service tech, do not leave it on steam mode after texturing your milk. The machine gets too hot and may not work when you go to extract espressos even though your green light may be on. The service tech will love you for it ($75 is good money for taking a couple of screws off and flicking a switch) but training yourself to turn off the machine off steam mode, then turning the machine comletely off after using it and expelling the pent-up steam, is really the way to go.

Unfortunately the user manuals don't share this useful knowledge!

I see you are a Saeco user! Good choice. Overall, I reckon this is a great machine.

I'll grind up some Costa Rican for you next time I see you and you can taste some real black gold!
